Agneya Singh is a writer and filmmaker from India. His work moves between cinema, poetry, and the essay form — grounded in the politics of dissent, the poetics of place, and the emotional architectures of memory. Born in New Delhi and trained at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, he began as a documentary filmmaker before shifting toward experimental narratives that fracture traditional storytelling.
Recurring across his films and writing is a preoccupation with rebellion — not as spectacle, but as a condition of being in the world. Whether working behind the camera or on the page, Agneya’s work interrogates the edges of freedom, state, and self. His debut feature film M Cream, a satirical road movie about youth and resistance, won multiple international awards including Best Feature at the Rhode Island International Film Festival. The film was theatrically distributed by PVR Pictures and is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
He is currently based on the island of Gozo, developing new projects in film and literature.
